Enhancing Energy Efficiency:  PT Asahimas Chemical Receives Award from the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE)

For its contributions to energy conservation and reducing national greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, PT Asahimas Chemical (ASC) received an award for "Innovation in Energy Management for Industry" subcategory during the Appreciation Night held by Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE). The event took place on Tuesday (17/12) at Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jakarta.

This event serves as an appreciation from the Directorate General of EBTKE to stakeholders for their performance and support in accelerating the development of renewable energy and energy conservation in Indonesia. It was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), associations, corporations and partners, as well as renewable energy business entities.

Stated in the opening speech, the Director General of EBTKE, Eniya Listiani Dewi, commended the achievement of a 147.69 million tons of CO2 reduction in GHG emissions in 2024, reflecting the commitment to reaching a collective target of 350 million tons of CO2 by 2030. "These excellent performances and achievements belong to all of us. Tonight, we are honoring them with 157 awards across all EBTKE sub-sectors to support net-zero emissions and sustainable development," she concluded. 

ASC remains committed to improving the efficiency of its business operations through efficient and sustainable energy management. Energy efficiency program is implemented in the plant and building facilities, especially in the Significant Energy Users (SEUs) that are Thermal Power Plant and VCM Plant. In year 2024, ASC have 52 efficiency program and 0.17 GJ/ton-product energy consumption reduction.  Echoing the closing remarks delivered by Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung, this award serves as both an accomplishment and a motivation for ASC to continue its dedication and contributions to the development and utilization of renewable energy, as well as energy conservation in Indonesia.
